Zombie!

I drew a Zombie!
He's cute!
he's for the iCopic Colour Challenge. I also put the line art of this as a stamp in my shop. just click on him to go to the image in the shop.
Colouring challenges are a great way to enhance your copic skills.
Colours used: yr04, yr09, bv00, bv01, bv04, e70, e71, 100, a few others :P

Okay, I'm getting a lamp for my desk here so I can go back to doing proper tutorials! gosh, I've had such a hard time photographing and making videos from the poor lighting in my apartment. then I'll do more tutorials, and illustrations!
not sure what my next tutorial should be that's worthy of a video. I really want to redo my other ones, so I might just do that to get me going.

Also, I made an oak fairy
Click on the image to go to her place in the shop.
this ones has 3 versions, one like the preview, one with no leaves, and one with just the leaves.

Well, I hope everyone's enjoying my blog - I know I've had a few people un-follow me. If there is something you'd like me to do, just give a comment and let me know! I would really like to make everyone happy!

stay tuned for tutorials! I promise some new ones soon now that I'll have a lamp!
By the way, I might be slow on getting anything up for a while, I've got the most severe wrist pain I've ever had. I've been drawing too much clearly.

Anyway... night night!

Christmas card contest entry

At my work, Opus, Every year they give us this really tiny deadline to get in a Christmas card contest entry. I know I wont win because it's not christmassy enough. At the same time they preach being neutral because of our heavily mixed culture, but I know they want christmassy. I'm going to Cross post this to my Art blog, sorry for those who watch both, you'll get it twice

Anyway, this is my little frog entry:
It's frogs. Yup.Even though frogs wouldn't be out in winter.
I was kinda making a jab at the mild winters here.
Okay the rules state Opus logo must be present in the card so I hope mine's not too hidden.
The frogs ate glow bugs in the opus logo colours, and they're tummies are glowing and the Opus logo is the coloured reflections in the water.
I think it looks cute so even if I don't win I think the logo isn't SO obvious it can't stand on it's own as an illustration.
I may fiddle with the text and placement a little but meh, I kinda like it.

icopic Challenge #4

This is an illustration I did for the icopic challenge #4. The 3 colours were brown yellow and orange.
Colours used: Y06, Y04, Y13, Y15, Y17YR23, YR24,YR04, E49 $E44
Inked with Copic multiliner, on copic illustration paper.
I also used Copic Opaque white.
Doesn't get any more Copic than that!
So the colours immediately brought to mind Orcas in the sunset to me. I live in Vancouver of course which has around it's shores more Orcas than anywhere else in the world. I adore orcas and I've adopted from the Killer Whale Adoption program since 2009. The first whale I adopted was a a transient male named Seaforth, but shortly after I adopted him he was declared dead. They let me choose a new whale. So I adopted Current. He's a young one. Then randomly it turns out that someone I work with also adopted a whale, and it turned out to be Current's bother, Surf. Very random.

Anyway, little story. I wanna win that swatchbook! wish me luck :D

Copic Marker Challenge #3

So I thought I'd post this here. I've used a new paper here called Xpress it Blending card. I thought it only fitting since it's the prize for the contest. I bought a small package of it to experiment and I'm hooked. It doesn't feather or bleed or anything like that. It's really lovely and silky smooth! I'll do a proper post and add it to my paper comparison page some day, but for now I thought I'd share the Copic challenge with you.

I sketched this out yesterday and decided to use it for the copic colour challenge on the Icopic Blog.
So it's little guru wooing albino dinosaurs.
